2025 Golf Outing Recap
About this event:

It was a dark and stormy night. . .oh, wait, that was Snoopy.

It was a cold and cloudy day when 20 teams (including one organized by Dean Maupin and one captained by Bob Swint) converged on Lake Bracken Country Club for the 26th Annual Stearman Foundation Golf Outing on Monday, May 5. They were greeted by 51 hole sponsor signs from members of the Stearman community lining the road from the corner to the clubhouse.

Prior to the 1:00 shotgun start, participants were also welcomed by several low, slow and smoky passes by Stu Olmsted in his Stearman, Daniel Wolford in the Jet Air Stearman, Brian Vallero in his Stearman and Phillip Wolford and passenger, Ric Woldow, in the T-6. As the golfers arrived at each hole, they were met with a total of 67 hole sponsor signs from local businesses and individuals displayed throughout the course.

Following the tournament, a delicious buffet dinner of tacos, nachos, refried beans, Spanish rice, chips and salsa and churros was served in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. Prizes were awarded to the first and second place teams in each flight, with additional pin events for both men and women. A variety of door prizes provided by the National Stearman Foundation and National Stearman Fly-In board members was distributed, along with an aerial tour provided by Jet Air and a 50/50 drawing.

The Stearman Foundation Board of Directors and the Golf Outing Committee (Jeanne Conlon, Becky Patterson, Diane Stickle) extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Lake Bracken Country Club, Stu Olmsted, Daniel Wolford, Brian Vallero, Phillip Wolford, Ric Woldow, golfers, hole sponsors, volunteers Kraig Boynton, Jean Jacobs, Dennis Jacobs, Rhonda Houzenga, Tye Hammerle, Elliott Swint, Pete and Marie Spear and all who donated door prizes. This event could not be possible without your continued support.

We hope you will join us on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Lake Bracken Country Club for the 27th Annual Stearman Foundation Golf Outing.
