Kraig Boynton

Secretary, National Stearman Fly-In

I am a life-long resident of Galesburg and try to support/promote as much as I can in the community that provides a positive impact.  When not working my real job as Transit Manager for Galesburg Public Transportation, you will find me involved with various community projects or church projects at Faith United Methodist Church as the technology coordinator, Trustees Chair, Pastor Parish Relations Chair, and former Ad Council Chair.

I have been involved in Leadership Greater Galesburg, am a former Board of Director and Past President for the United Way of Knox County, run numerous volleyball leagues, and am former co-event coordinator of Taste of Galesburg,  I am currently Board Secretary for theGalesburg Chamber of Commerce, volunteer for Relay for Life, Polar Plunge,Great Balloon Race, and the National Stearman Fly-In (just to name a few).

I became involved with the Stearman Fly-In at the request of friends Diane Stickle and Jeanne Conlon who asked me to help out as a volunteer.  During past years, I have worked in the office, retail, flight line, and provided the late night shuttle service.  It has been a treat getting to know members of the Stearman community over the years, hearing their stories, and seeing how their love for flying has impacted many in our community with this event.

In my spare time, you can find me cheering on my nieces and nephews in all of their extracurricular activities.  I am a big believer that we will all have time to sleep when we die. 😊
