National Stearman Fly-In Day 2
A Stearman “trifecta” graced the skies over Western Illinois Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 2, 2008). From top to bottom are a 1931 Speedmail 4E owned by Ben Scott, Reno, NV; a 1931 C3R owned by Tom Lowe, Crystal Lake, IL, and a 1927 C3B owned by Larry Tobin, Colbert, WA. Tobin’s plane is the oldest flyable Stearman in existence. All three are at Galesburg, IL, Municipal Airport during the 37th National Stearman Fly-In.
