Flying In His Blood
Cal Tax, Cumming, GA, says he feels a family connection to the Stearman he flew to the 37th National Stearman Fly-In in Galesburg, IL, in 2008. His father flew in Stearmans teaching students to fly during World War II. Flying since age 14, Tax flew in the Air Force and for Delta Airlines before retiring. “It’s in my blood, I guess, and I haven’t gotten bored of it,” Tax says.
