National Stearman Fly-In – Day 6

Fred Wright, right, Inverness, IL, was named winner of the Lloyd Stearman Award during the 38th National Stearman Fly-In at Galesburg, IL, Municipal Airport. The award honors “a Stearman documented to be of significant importance in the Stearman Aircraft Company's history, or one that has been restored to replicate or preserve the historic accuracy of a civilian or military Stearman.” The plaque bears a reproduction of Lloyd Stearman’s signature. Mike Lowe, left, presented the award to Wright.
