National Stearman Fly-In – Day 6

Brian Aukes, right, Ankeny, IA, holds the winner’s plaque for “Best Custom Stearman” at the 38th National Stearman Fly-In. The award is presented for “creativity and workmanship on custom Stearmans.” Aukes’ plane is N806RB –- the last of the Red Baron Pizza Squadron air show planes which performed around the country for 28 years. Mike Lowe, left, presented the plaque. Awards and contests at this year’s Fly-In were sponsored by Kleine Equipment Inc., Galesburg, IL.
