National Stearman Fly-In – Day 5

When John and Doris Wolford and family members invite friends to a picnic on their farm near Abingdon, many of the guests arrive in Stearman biplanes and park near the farmstead’s grain bins and machine shed. It’s a short walk from the grass parking area to lunch –- served from a hay rack. Some guests bring folding lawn chairs; others dine on planks that stretch between bales of straw. Everyone appreciates the casual nature of the party.
