National Stearman Fly-In – Day 5

Stearman pilots and passengers, sitting on the grass parking area at the Wolford Farm airstrip southwest of Abingdon, IL, on Friday, Sept. 11, enjoyed lunch and conversation. The private field has been part of the farm since the 1940s; at its current location -- just west of the old quarter-mile-long strip -- it offers a 2,600-foot grass runway that’s manicured by family members.
