National Stearman Fly-In – Day 4

Brothers Charlie and Bill Cole bought their Stearman at an auction in Minnesota in October 2008. Schwann Foods, owner of the Red Baron airplanes, decided to change its advertising strategy and sell the planes and their support equipment. After inspecting the fleet, the Coles were pleased that the plane they wanted -- N803RB –- was the first one to be auctioned, according to Bill Cole, and they bought it for less than they had expected to pay.
