National Stearman Fly-In – Day 3

Brian Aukes, Ankeny, IA, taxis his Red Baron Squadron Stearman Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 9, during the 38th National Stearman Fly-In at Galesburg, IL, Municipal Airport. A total of 93 of the vintage biplanes were on the ground for this year’s event at sundown Wednesday. The 2008 Fly-In attracted just 71 planes; in the 14-year period between 1991 and 2007 yearly attendance never dropped below 109 planes.
