National Stearman Fly-In – Day 2

Les Heikkila found this N2S-3 “Recall” Stearman in Trade-a-Plane’s Internet listings and decided to buy it because it was authentic and unique. He’s owned the plane for 2½ years, first bringing it to the National Stearman Fly-In in 2008. That year it was named winner of the Fly-In’s “Yellow Peril” award for excellence in the restoration of Navy Stearmans. The photo above shows a painted placard specifying maximum crew weight and fuel requirements.
