National Stearman Fly-In – Day 2
Les Heikkila, St. Louis, MO, owns what may be the only one of its kind –- a Navy Stearman N2S-3 that was built in 1939. The biplane’s distinctive blue-and-white stripe paint scheme identifies it as a “Recall” Stearman. Heikkila says he’s not sure if the Army Air Corps had its version of the “Recall” plane, but a search –- someday –- of military records may provide the answer to that question.
