“Square Tail” Stearman
Tom Lowe inspects his Stearman C3R Business Speedster, a “square tail” model built by the Stearman factory in 1931. Lowe has also owned a Navy N2S-3 Stearman, which as used by the U.S. Navy as a primary trainer during World War II, for 40 years. Lowe co-founded the National Stearman Fly-In in 1972. This picture was taken during the 2006 Fly-In.
